To-date in 2022, The Seafarers’ Charity awarded £914,220 in grants to 16 organisations, supporting more than 400,000 people in need.
Last year we awarded 74 grants, totalling over £2.9m to 56 organisations supporting seafarers in need and their families.
Our grant funding supports frontline organisations and projects that provide essential help for seafarers and their families in crisis. Each grant application is assessed against our core goals to ensure the support provided to ensure that your donations go to where the need is greatest.

Chirp Charitable Trust
Grant funding of core costs of the maritime activities of the Confidential Hazardous Incident Reporting Programme which focuses on the aviation and maritime industries worldwide.
Amount awarded: £50,000
Fishing into the Future
Grant funding for core costs to support the salary of a full-time programme manager to develop and lead activities to engage local fishers in the science of fishing and the co-management of fisheries to improve their financial resilience.

Grant funding for Queen Victoria Seamen's Rest's frontline service accommodation for 150+ seafarers, many of them elderly.

Grant funding contribution to support Mission to Seafarers to increase resilience in ports through creating safer seafarer centres.

Queen Victoria Seamen's Rest
Grant to support the provision of accommodation and welfare services - these services are prioritised for active and retired seafarers and their dependents at East India Dock Road.

Felixstowe & Haven Ports Seafarers Service
Grant funding to support the Felixstowe and Haven Ports seafarers' centres during the COVID-19 lockdown.
