To-date in 2022, The Seafarers’ Charity awarded £914,220 in grants to 16 organisations, supporting more than 400,000 people in need.
Last year we awarded 74 grants, totalling over £2.9m to 56 organisations supporting seafarers in need and their families.
Our grant funding supports frontline organisations and projects that provide essential help for seafarers and their families in crisis. Each grant application is assessed against our core goals to ensure the support provided to ensure that your donations go to where the need is greatest.

Grant funding contribution to support Mission to Seafarers to increase resilience in ports through creating safer seafarer centres.
Amount awarded: £40,000
Felixstowe & Haven Ports Seafarers Service
Grant funding to support the Felixstowe and Haven Ports seafarers' centres during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Amount awarded: £39,000
Queen Victoria Seamen's Rest
Grant awarded to support the operation of services for seafarers at the Port of Tilbury, the London Cruise Terminal and DP World London Gateway.
Amount awarded: £35,000
Aberdeen Seafarer's Centre
Grant funding for a Chaplain's salary for one year to support the offshore oil industry and seafarer job losses that have been impacted by the decline in the price of oil and COVID-19.
Amount awarded: £30,000
The Humber Seafarers' Service
Grant funding to support staff salaries for five months to ensure that Humber Seafarer' Centre is able to reopen to seafarers who need respite from their vessels, but are not so keen to venture out of the port during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mission to Seafarers Africa
Grant funding support for a range of resources and services for ship-visitors to support seafarers in African ports of Mombasa, Kenya and Richards Bay and Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
Amount awarded: £24,880
